My 2nd Birthday as Mrs Tan

I know it has been quite a while since I last wrote, but you have to excuse me... due to the work load I have, there really isnt much time for me to actually sit and upload and blog. Anyway, I have finally left my job, hopefully the next one is not as stressful.

Time really flies. It has been a year already since my ROM. Also, it's my birthday. On the 26th, hubby invited everyone home to celebrate with me. I was really happy and thanks for all the beautiful gifts.

過大禮

It's the 過大禮. I woke up at 545am. Had to drive mum to Yulek pasar to collect kuihs. We reached there around 7am, had our breakfast and headed to u.allan's house to pray. Everything was doen by 8am, we left for home. u.James, heong yi & mny were already in our house. We prepared everything.

At 945am, we left for Seremban. Reached there at 1030am. LP came out to greet us. They were all wearing red. Really nice. We brought in all the things. Gave her mum the dowry and everyone was busy. Her mum cooked us curry chicken and mee hoon. And after lunch we left for KL.

And now, we are counting days till our BIG DAY!!!

A Busy Day

I'm really happy as I have cut out quite a number of stuff in my to-do-list.

Yesterday I took half day leave just to lessen my to-do's. I left work for home around 1230pm. MIL & mun & boy were already waiting for me. We left asap. We headed to Redsense where a.mny told us there were lots of wedding stuff. Not really though. Our next stop was Petaling Street, somewhere behind Central Market. Another bluff - nothing at all. Then MIL said to go Pudu Market. Yes, see, you should trust your MIL. We bought almost everything there. Yeah yeah... but too bad we bought a not so nice umbrella. I prefer the other one which has lace. Too late.

After everything, we got back into the car and headed to Sg. Wang. We went straight to JonTen (MIL's usual jeweller). After spending bout 2 1/2 hours there, we finally bought everything. I'm really happy with my gifts. Boy was bored by then. Lucky hubby came. He brought boy next door and thereon boy stuck to him like glue. Cause it's a playstation shop. And hubby end up buying one. Sigh.

Then we walked a while and left for Noble House for our food tasting.

Mun took a picture of all the dishes. Everyone said the food was great. Well, of course now it's only 1 table. Just hope that it's the same on the big day. After filling our stomach, Micheal (the manager) came over to discuss some things. Vegetarians, malays, screens, deco, etc etc etc.

I'm getting more and more excited.

Genting

Last Saturday we went up to Genting with the whole family. Jason & Chloe, Mike & Vincent too. It wasnt too cold. We had to wait for 1 hour just to check in. But it was worthwhile for the money we made... Hehehe.

CNY 2008

We had done so much during the chinese new year, or should I say ate a lot? It's usually like that, it's either gamble, eat or visit friends. This year chor 3, we went down to seremban to pick LP home. Dad, mum, mun, boy & baby went with me.

Chor 4, we went to mun's house to lou sang. There were a lot of people. The guys played chor tai dee while the ladies played mahjong.

Chor 5, mum's birthday, we went to Overseas Restaurant to lou sang again. In laws came up too.

And for the rest of the CNY, as I've mentioned, we just ate, gamble and slept.

It's Nearing

LTP gave us a list of to do's. I took it out the other day to check. He gave us the dates all under the lunar calendar. So I converted it into our normal calendar dates and gave it to MIL. Our "過大禮" falls on 25 April (lunar 三月二十).

On Monday 18 Feb 08, MIL went with mun to order the wedding pastry "嫁女餅". It's home made, she brought some back for us. Hubby & I were impressed. Their packaging was nice and so were the pastries. Yummy!

Now that the chinese new year is over, only did I realised our big day is another 3 months time. I am so excited. Can't wait to see the wedding photos and oh dear, there are so many things to be done.

A Day of Love

It's the time of the year again where love fills the air. Not only it's Valentine's Day, it marks the first anniversary of the proposal. Hubby got me a special gift, it was a great surprise. I really loved the watch. It's beautiful.

I actually arranged for a group celebration. There were 16 of us. Wow, this is my first time celebrating Valentine's with so many people. We went to Riblee's, a cozy restaurant in Hartamas that serves pork ribs. We enjoyed the dinner and spent the rest of the time laughing and chatting about everything.

First Lou Sang

Before the CNY, we had a get together. 24 of us gathered to lou sang in Overseas Restaurant, Jaya 1. Thank god we had a room. We drank, we gambled and everyone enjoyed.

2007 has passed. Many things happened. We celebrated in Rodney's home. We had great fun.

On 21st Dec, my parents came up to KL and since it's "guo tung", dear asked them to stay for dinner. I brought them around while MIL cooked. Everyone loves her cooking. She cooked a feast. After dinner, we all sat and chat before we left for home.

This is the first year we are celebrating Xmas as Mr & Mrs Tan. We bought lots of presents for all. We placed them under the xmas tree and it was so packed. RayErn couldnt wait to open the presents, but he was a good boy and waited until after the xmas dinner before opening them.

After that we adjourned to Gary & Christine's house for 2nd round of party.

Quite a lot happened for the past weekend. We went to Isetan and Curve to see the X'mas deco. Not as nice as last year though.

We finally got hold of our photographer. We met him in Starbucks, Curve. He showed us his works and we find them really impressive and we fell in love with it. At that instant we paid him deposit. We have been so busy for the past few months and now we have to chase back time. We need to get lots of things ready.

We decided we are going to use "tai kham cheh", but only for the morning. We just want to add some chinese tradition in. We are chinese and should follow the culture. She looked young, and at first impression I thought she might not be able to handle a wedding.

But after talking to her, she is really a professional in this. She told us a lot of things and asked us to call her a week or two before the "guo tai lai". She will give us a little guidance on how to go about it.

This is getting more and more excited. Can't wait for the actual big day.

Can't really remember when was the last time we went to shop for my gown. Anyway, finally we got our butts out to shop again. We went to RedBliss and was quite impressed. After telling us everything we need to know, we told them that we need some time to think about it.

We went back there after work the next day. We finally confirmed after they added in more stuff. We picked the shooting date and then left with a big smile. Can't really wait till then, and that means we have to go on a diet too. Sigh, good bye nice food.

Although I am not a person who buys numbers all the time, getting my new car made me bought 4d for the pass few draws. I was a little disappointed checking the numbers every draw. Yesterday as usual I bought again and when it was time I went online to check.

I was soooo happy to see 9600, it was just a consolation prize. Although we won a little, I guess we're really lucky and I really couldn't say how happy I was.

Too bad hubby went to China, if not he would have strike too.

Today's our registration day. We reached there at10am got our number "2027". We then went down for a light meal. At around 1115am, they finally called our names. We went in to say our vows. We are officially Mr & Mrs Tan.

We left ROM for lunch. We had our lunch in Loon Sing Restaurant in Nilai, famous for its 'Buddha jump over the wall". It was great to get both family together and chat.

Mun got us some pretty cupcakes for dessert. They sure taste as good as they look.

A Night in Genting

We spent a night in Genting Highlands with my family. We got there after work. Gary, Christine, Rodney & Joanne came too. It was a little cold due to the rain. We had a whole lot of fun. It's always nice to have the family outing together.

Nearing to our registration day, we finally got our butts up to go look for our wedding bands. We went to a few shops. We cannot seem to find a pair that we like. Coming to the end of the day, we nearly gave up, we were tired and thought might as well leave it until the next day or the week after.

We went to the last jewelry shop in Curve. Finally got a pair that we both loved. It was love at first sight. We bought them and got it engraved with, "A&P 261007"

Happy Mooncake Festival

We had a little celebration for the mooncake festival yesterday. All the ah yi's came, we had a lot of fun preparing as well as eating. Later we lit up the lanterns and took pictures. Nice ones.

Badminton WorldChampionships 2007

Being a badminton freak, dear bought ticket for the BWC semi-finals and finals. I didn't go with him on Saturday for the semis. Yesterday after brunch, I accompanied him to watch the FINALS in Bukit Jalil. We brought some snacks along but that couldnt help our hungry stomach. We bought hotdogs in the stadium.

There were so many people. It was really exciting, we really love Lin Dan, we were cheering for him all the way. Dear said he knew Lin Dan would win... Hahaha. Anyway, after the match we waited outside for them. We saw him and Zhu Lin in person - so close. Really handsome and pretty.

After that we went home for dinner.

Yesterday went for a trial makeover at SHU UEMURA. And I loved it so much. Looking at the mirror, I know this is how I want to look on my BIG day.

Heart Melting

We finally got to see Hacken Lee up close and personal... Well, actually not so close and not so personal. Hehe, but the seats were ok, we can see him quite clearly. The concert was great, the songs melted our hearts. We did had it recorded in mpeg. At least, then we can review some clips of it. Too bad the clips are too large to upload.

We bought his new CD too.

The concert ended at around 11pm, then we went for supper with re, mun & jeff. We headed to casino, boy told us "yeng toh tit" (win more). So cute, and we really did win a bit.

The next day we walked a bit and left for home. It was indeed a tiring trip.

A Little Makeover

Yesterday after dinner we went to Ikea. We needed extra shelves for books and a chair for the dressing table. The sale was good, we found a few items that we liked. But, we didnt get the measurements from our room so we thought we might as well wait for another week or two.

Oh dear, I can't wait till the weekend. We're spending a night in Genting...

It has been 5 months since the proposal. He gave me a beautiful ring. I wear it 24/7. The other day, I thought I should get him a wedding gift too. He doesnt want a ring. We'll have our wedding bands anyway. So for the past 2 weeks, I have cracked my head thinking of what to get him.

Finally I have found a perfect gift for him. Something that he can wear, something practical, something nice... I bought him a watch, to remind him that I'm by his side - every second, every minute, every hour, for eternity...

I'm glad he loves it.

Arena of Stars

Being a big fan of Hacken Lee, we finally got tickets to his concert on the 28th July 2007. The tickets are fairly expensive, RM380 being the most expensive and it's sold out. Madness, anyway we got the RM222 tickets.

We will be spending the night at First World Hotel - Superior Deluxe, looks really nice from the net, nice big room. Can't wait to go on a break again. We're counting the days...

The Dates...

On the 14 Mar 07, we went to Loh Tit Pat to search for an auspicious date for our big day. Well, we are chinese, and I guess this is a tradition we have to follow, although I felt being conned. He gave us a few dates, and after much deliberation, we finally chose 10 May 2008 (四月初六) to wed.

A month later, we went up to meet him to tell him the date we have chosen and what he has to tell us. Everything was ok. He asked us to go back to collect the stuff a month later. We waited and on 27 May 07, we went to collect the stuff. Everything was so systematic already, computer printed out...

Noble Banquet

After much consideration, we thought we might as well confirm Noble Banquet. The food is nice and the ambience is great. It is wholly owned by the Oriental Group so you can imagine how delicious the food is.

We went to pay the deposit on the 24 April 07. The most important thing is to secure the venue.
